Smoothie bowls are a wonderful alternative to cereal and a brilliant way of easily adding a wider variety of plants into your daily routine.  This blackberry and avocado smoothie bowl has at least 6 different plants in it and if you think that avocado is a strange addition to blend with your smoothie, then let us reassure you that avocado helps to create a smooth and light texture to any smoothie.

Don’t be afraid to use the structure of the basic blackberry and avocado smoothie ingredients and switch the berries, type of yoghurt or swap peanut butter for almond or cashew butter. Remember you can add as many or as few toppings as you like.

Blackberry and Avocado Smoothie Bowl

Serves             1



½ cup frozen or fresh blackberries

1 banana

1 small avocado

2 heaped tablespoonfuls of coconut yoghurt

1 tablespoon peanut butter

2cm piece of fresh ginger

50ml plant-based milk


Nutty Chocolate Granola

Chia Berry Jam

5 blackberries

1 tablespoon coconut yoghurt

1 teaspoon peanut butter

3 squares dark chocolate

1 square dark chocolate, finely sliced

If you are making your own chia berry jam and granola, get those done first! Otherwise, add all the ingredients to a blender or blender cup and blend them until smooth and creamy. Scoop the blackberry and avocado smoothie bowl mix into a bowl and add as many toppings as you like.

Top tip for cleaning your blender or blender cup is to add warm water and a squeeze of washing up liquid, replace the lid and turn the blender on again.
